Battle

Among the most spectacular disciplines in Inline Freestyle, the Battle lights up the competition arena with adrenaline and creativity. In this direct challenge, groups of 3 or 4 athletes face off on the same track, taking turns performing their tricks between three rows of cones.

There’s no room for mistakes: each run is an explosion of technique, originality, and improvisation, where the goal is to win over the judges by proving who truly dominates the scene. It’s a freestyle duel that can ignite the crowd and test the pure talent of the world’s best skaters.

Structure of the competition:

The Battle Freestyle Slalom consists of a series of direct duels between athletes, divided into group stages (1st round, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals). The top two athletes from each group advance to the next round, competing with the goal of winning the entire event.

In case of a tie between two athletes, a skate-off (tiebreaker race) may be held, or if necessary, a technical decision by the judges will determine the winner.

Each athlete has 30 seconds per run, with a maximum of 2-3 runs per round to showcase their skills on the course, except in the final stage where each participant performs 3 runs plus a “best trick” — a single technical move executed throughout the entire run.

Judging Criteria:

  1. Technical difficulty of tricks – How complex and challenging the executed tricks are.
  2. Variety and originality – The uniqueness and diversity of tricks, to stand out from the competition.
  3. Clean execution – Absence of penalties, such as falls or cone touches.
  4. Fluidity and time management – How the athlete manages the allotted time to perform tricks smoothly and harmoniously.
  5. Sportsmanship and creativity – How the athlete combines technical skill and creative spirit into a spectacular performance.
