Milan Hero Battle Cup, July 3–23, 2025: A Historic Event for Skating and Urban Sports

Milan becomes the world capital of skating and urban sports for 20 days of pure adrenaline, sustainability, and youth culture.

A record-breaking edition that marks a new era for the event, now officially recognized by World Skate, the International Federation of Roller Sports, and promoted in Italy by Skate Italia, the national federation for roller sports.
Milan—one of the most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities in Europe—is set to host the biggest and most significant edition yet of the Milano Hero Battle Cup 2025, an event that this year reaches historic milestones in both participation and visibility.

The event is part of the Senstation Summer program, a format by Grandi Stazioni Retail, which further enriches the city’s cultural and sports offerings during the summer season.

With a strong international spirit, the event fully embodies the values of youth, urban culture, and sustainability, becoming a global benchmark for skating and urban sports.

For twenty consecutive days, the vibrant heart of Milan—Piazza Duca d’Aosta—will host more than 1,200 athletes, coaches, and delegations from four continents. A unique experience that transforms the city into a true international stage for disciplines that are constantly evolving.

This event is not just a competition—it’s a grand celebration of the passion, creativity, and dedication that the new generations bring to urban sports.

Record Participation

The highlight of the event, the Inline Freestyle World Cup—officially recognized by World Skate, the International Federation of Roller Sports—has achieved an unprecedented milestone, with 350 athletes registered across qualifiers and finals, representing 25 countries.

In addition to Italy, the largest delegations come from Spain, France, Poland, Ukraine, India, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Senegal, Mexico, and many more.
With four continents represented, the event radiates a youthful, global energy that brings urban sports culture to an ever-growing audience.

Compared to the 2024 edition, participation has increased by 35%, confirming the explosive global growth of the sport.

Alongside the World Cup, the Italian National Championship, organized under the auspices of Skate Italia, has also reached a new peak: 550 participants from every region of Italy—a 30% increase from last year.
This result highlights both the sport’s deepening roots and the rising national enthusiasm for these disciplines.

Milan’s Global Visibility

The Milano Hero Battle Cup 2025 is not only a major sporting event but also a high-impact media showcase, supported by strategic media partners.

With 9 hours of live coverage on Sky and regular updates on Sky Sport 24, the event is set to reach millions of viewers, offering an exceptional spotlight for urban skating.

In parallel, coverage will be available via live streaming on World Skate TV for the World Cup and FISR TV for the Italian Championship, ensuring widespread online reach.

These platforms significantly amplify the event’s presence on social media, generating global visibility and strengthening Milan’s connection to the world of urban sports.

A city already renowned for fashion and design, Milan also confirms its status as a capital of sporting innovation, thanks to its collaboration with the City of Milan and the event’s inclusion in the public initiative “Sport Milano.” This program enables sporting activities in key urban areas such as Piazza Duca d’Aosta, Darsena, Piazza XXIV Maggio, and Naviglio Pavese.

A City That Speaks to Youth

With its international and inclusive energy, Milan affirms itself as a crossroads for youth, urban culture, and sustainability.
The Milano Hero Battle Cup 2025 is far more than just a competition—it’s an opportunity for connection, growth, and visibility for all the young people who see urban sports as a powerful form of expression and belonging.

In a world increasingly focused on sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation, Milan continues to stand out for its ability to host and elevate events that represent the future of sport.
