Speed Slalom is one of the most spectacular and breathtaking disciplines in Inline Freestyle. On a straight course lined with 20 cones spaced 80 cm apart, athletes must skate on one foot, weaving through the cones at maximum speed without touching or knocking any over.

It requires balance, absolute control, and elite reflexes: every fraction of a second counts, and every mistake can compromise the result. An electrifying challenge that keeps the audience glued to the track, where every run is an explosion of tension and showmanship!

How does the competition work?

🔹 Qualifiers – Time Trials
Athletes compete in two individual timed runs with a “free start.” The best time is used to rank competitors and determine who advances to the next phase.

🔹 Finals – KO System
The competition moves to direct head-to-head battles, where two skaters race side-by-side in up to three runs. The winner is the one with the best time and the fewest penalties.

The scoring system is based on Victory Points, calculated by combining the technical score (time taken) and penalties incurred.

Today, the world champion title belongs to Amir Savari Jamalouei (Iran), who took gold at the 2024 Inline Freestyle World Championships in Rome.
